Songs, dance beat heart of Canton pow wow
The sounds of tribal drums and the wail of song echoed to the top of Great Blue Hill as The Order for the Preservation of Indian Culture gathered for the 31st annual pow wow at Prowse Farm in Canton.
Area Native Americans donned their best regalia for the weekend that was highlighted by traditional dances in honor of war veteran's, grass, and a succesful hunt.
More than 20 vendors sold handmade jewelry, medicine wheels, blankets, leather jackets, mocassins and children's toys.
Visitors had the opportunity to try buffalo burgers, marinated venison and a Native American favorite, fry bread.
