Two-time Native American GRAMMY Award winner Robert Mirabal presents his newest video “Holding up the Sky” from his “In the Blood” CD. “Holding up the Sky” was written by Robert’s friend David Garver. Video by Bill Mitchell, Blue Sky Footage. Robert dedicates this song to the Piute Prophet, Wovoka, since it is in keeping with his message about returning the earth to its sustainable ways. Wovoka believed his “Ghost Dances” would save indigenous peoples, bring about positive change and re-establish the natural world. Robert believes that whether we know it or not… we are headed in that positive direction… if we have faith, and hold up the sky.
I love this. It just makes me want to dance under a starlit or blue sky. It fells me with such hope…..Can’t put into words. I love all your work…..Thank the Great Spirit for sending you to us.
