Birthright Citizenship in US History The US Constitution’s 14th Amendment, ratified in 1868, contains what’s known as the “Citizenship Clause,” granting citizenship to “all persons born or naturalized in the United States … .” A panel of professors looks at the history of the 14th Amendment and its grant of birthright citizenship, and how that has affected different ethnic groups, including Native Americans, and immigrant groups such as Asians & Mexicans. The panelists also talk about state and federal efforts over the years to regulate birthright citizenship and touch on recent proposals to amend the Constitution’s “Citizenship Clause.” This discussion was part of a conference on birthright citizenship hosted by the University of Maryland’s Center for the History of the New America. I did. He thinks in general the Native Americans got fucked over. On this he is sure and does not waiver. He thinks that roughly equal numbers of casualties from physical conflict is roughly equal yet does not go into what may be the reasons for military actions in the first place. And he makes a value judgement on nomadic vs non-nomadic peoples with respect to property rights.
I will be responding in a manner that is conducive to discussing this topic with him. Not you or Bob, but SMS.
It’s hard to say if everyone wants the drama. I think a vid should be up for at least 24 hours before the comments can be judged. Assuming the turnout remains low, I think maybe all the law talk raised things too high. Aside from agreeing that America screwed all the natives, about all I could think to say at a few spots (e.g. the unique spot the native Hawaiians are in) was, “Oh, I didn’t know that.”
Yeah, prolly not cool to call my friends and sub assholes. LOL XD
this hits close to home for me. My family is from Oklahoma and my family has 100% living native Americans in it.
The whole conversation needed to be elevated. But people only want drama. So I’m like screw it. screw it all. Laymen and academics alike. I should make a video about that.
Lol *guards taint*
I couldn’t think of anything worth saying about the lecture that everyone doesn’t already know. That could be why 26 viewers said nothing. I assume SMS is still working on his report — or maybe finding a dog that likes the taste of paper.
A-ha! You changed your comment. I was wondering why the count’s off
I’m a bit busy in an odd way and my responses are delayed. But SMS knows this and it is ok.

well if you get a straight answer tell me.
yes he has. And I will be responding to him. There is something to be gained from this sans all the drama. Notice I did not participate.
Has he ever responded to you in a way that you found satisfactory?
He said in a day or two.
Good thing you didn’t hold your breath. Has he turned in his report yet?
I’m not holding my breath.

Imperialism may just be inherent to the human condition.
